November - Trust In God

In Psalm 20:7, King David writes, “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God” (NIV). King David, as a powerful king with an army at his command, had every reason to trust in his military strength. But instead, he reminds us that true security doesn’t come from wealth, power, or human authority—it comes from God alone.

Trusting in God means choosing to rely on Him, no matter what’s going on around us or what we’re facing in life. King David isn’t just talking about trusting God when things are going well; he’s talking about trusting Him through all the highs and lows.

When King David says we should “trust in the name of the Lord our God,” he’s inviting us to place our full confidence in who God is—His character, His promises, and His ability to show up for us, no matter what. And this isn’t just a nice idea; it’s a truth we can stand on. In Malachi 3:6, God says, “I the Lord do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed” (NIV). God is steady, unchanging, and reliable—even when everything else around us feels shaky and unpredictable. That’s why we’re called to place our trust in Him, not in the things that come and go.

Faith is a choice, and I’ve learned that I can choose to walk by faith—not by fear or the noise of the world around me.

I’m choosing to trust God. I can rely on Him to provide for all my needs—whether that means a job, unexpected opportunities, or something else entirely. It’s not always easy, but knowing that God is trustworthy helps me walk through each day with confidence, knowing He has my back—and He has yours too.
